Plum

The Plum tree originated from the genus Prunus, to whom also belong the peach, juices and the cherries. Her latin word is Prunus domestica, and it is considered to have originated from the shores of the Caspian Sea. The Plum tree is cultivated throughout all of the year, and the largest producers are Russia, China, USA and Romania. Into our regions fresh plum can be found from May to October.

There are over 2,000 varieties of plums derived by crossing, with different sizes, flavors, colors and tones: blue, green, white, yellow, red, orange etc...

The fruit of the plum tree contains few calories (around 40 in 100g.), so it is suitable for: diets, as dueretik for cleaning the body, but also contains many useful substances like: beta carotene, fibers, vegetable fat, plant hormones, B vitamins, C vitamin, E vitamin, iron, Essential oils, potassium, calcium, magnesium, mineral salts, organic acids, phenols, carbohydrates, cellulose, sugar.
